International Ambassador Program

Check back in February 2010 for Ambassador applications!

Ambassadors are Georgetown students who volunteer during the International Orientation programs to greetnew international students and welcome them to Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. andthe United States.  In addition to orientation responsibilities in August, Ambassadors participate in a training workshop duringthe spring semester and dialogue with the incoming students throughout the summer. Graduate, undergraduate, international and U.S. citizens are all encouraged to apply.

Ambassador Responsibilities

Ambassadors organize and conduct social events, provide a wealth of information about campus life and answer many questions. Ambassadors meet the incoming students over email in the summer and guide them through Orientation in August. Ambassadors are volunteers. OIP will provide a small meal stipend, t-shirts, as well as the opportunity to move in to on-campus housing early (for those students living on-campus in the fall).

Training sessions will be held Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, August 23rd.  All training sessions are mandatory.
