International Pre-Orientation (IPO)
August 20 - 22, 2008
What is IPO?
IPO is an exciting three day program for new international students. Faculty members, administrators, and current students will give students a complete introduction to life at Georgetown.
IPO is a memorable time to meet new people and make new friends, while getting a thorough introduction to the U.S. academic system, general University services, and the culture of the United States. Participants will also explore Washington, D.C., attend a variety of social events, get settled in the residence halls, and shop for basics before the start of classes.
Who attends IPO? How do I register?
IPO is mandatory for all international first year, exchange, and transfer students who will enter the United States in F-1 or J-1 status. If you are one of these students, we have already registered you for IPO.
U.S. citizens who live abroad are also encouraged to attend IPO, as it may ease their transition to the University. Please register by July 20, 2008.
