International Student and Scholar Services Transfers
- F-1 students who intend to transfer-out must complete the F-1 Transfer-Out Form. A student who plans to transfer to Georgetown University from another U.S. institution must contact the IS Advisor at the current institution and determine a transfer release date. - F-1 students who intend to transfer-in must complete the F-1 Transfer-In Form. Graduating students in F-1 status beginning a new program of study must transfer their immigration status within the 60 day grace period following successful completion of the current program of study or period of authorized Optional Practical Training (OPT). Graduating students in J-1 status must transfer their immigration status within the 30 day grace period following successful completion of the current program of study or period of authorized Academic Training (AT). Mid-program students must transfer their immigration status prior to the last day of the add/drop period for the next required semester at Georgetown. Please see your IS Advisor to discuss the transfer process. Scholar Transfers J-1 scholars who intend to transfer to Georgetown University from another U.S. institution must complete the transfer before beginning their Georgetown program. J-1 scholars must complete the J-1 Scholar Request Form with the interested Georgetown host Department. |
